18, I know the struggle. Usually just used my Walkman with tapes of recordings from the radio because it could clip to my pants. The CD player was too fancy, I didn't have more than two CDs to play on it anyways.

Pfffttt, kids don't remember when floppy discs were actually floppy. On a side note last year I was driving with my brother in law and his family to pick up a Christmas tree, whilst listening to songs on the radio. My niece demanded that he play one of those songs again. She was confused that he had no control over the music, like in say her iPod.

I had one that looked more like this. I wasn't a flashy kid. Later I did have one that had a turntable that technically was a portable since it could take batteries, but it was more for dorm rooms and such.
